Speaking to a Child, Manifestation of Faith

When I was in High School, my mother and grandmother presented a traditional celebration for our home in inviting a CHILD to be honored and loved by our family as a guest.  This CHILD is Jesus.  My mother and grandmother sewed a beautiful robe and garb for his coming and he spent some time with our family as we placed an altar at the front entrance of our home for His stay with us.  I loved how my mother and grandmother taught me how to love children and to care for a GUEST IN our HOME!

After Mass this morning at St. Therese Church, Alhambra, California; I was drawn to speak to an image of the Divine Child Jesus and when I performed this bodily language of kneeling before this statue, I did not offer any sentiment of attention to any of my surroundings except the reality that a woman behind me was waiting for her turn to kneel before the same image.  While this may have distracted me from this opportune grace of heart to heart embodiment of speaking through the mind and intellect of reason to an image of a child known as Jesus; I found myself hearing a CHILD!

Do you know the sound of a child?

This child heard my heart speak to Him and told me He would speak to His Mother about my petition.  Now, at foresight this looked like a live person speaking to a statue.  Yet, the heart only hears what the heart hears; for what I heard only can be heard by my heart, until I share with you what my heart could hear.

Well, I had to explain to a person outside what this ACT of FAITH before an image she identified as a statue caused her to clarify my ACT of FAITH as not an act of worship before an idol.  And I agreed with her.  The worship we embody as the faithful here at St. Therese Church is an ADORATION to THE MOST HOLY TRINITY not a statue.
