"Are you a LAPSE Catholic?"
When I was in high school I learned about a world called "Catholic" and then a term called "Lapse Catholic." As a young adolescent, I only knew FAITH and the theological virtue infused into my soul at the present reality of Sacrament and Baptism confirmed by a Consecrated Holy Man with the Ordained Rite of Ministerial condition delivered through an ACT of FAITH!
I only knew that SIN is an act against my baptism. These terms came to a reality when I saw a man who witnessed his fatherhood through a condition of decision on where to go to for vacation. His decision as Head of the Family was to spend our Summer Vacations at Las Vegas to take the children to the Casino called "Circus Circus." And as a child, I learned about offering my decision in learning how to play a game to win a prize.
There are games: boardgames, cards, sportgames, carnival games, etc. And when I realized there was another game conceptualized at "Circus Circus" that never fulfilled an end result with a prize, I delivered a strong message of seeing a distinct reality of leaving the false game of winning. Who wins in a competition? Who wins in a gamble?
Sports are a reality in a socio-economic world of playing in a team to fortify a talent and decision on who has the talent. And what is a talent?
What is a talent with faith?
What is a talent with faith and reality?
And when you lapse in your faith is the reality a gamble?
or are you committing a deliberate sin?
